About Us

Our mission to communicate the Word of God; through the teaching and preaching of the gospel of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ; by conducting regular services. It shall exist further to sustain the ordinances, doctrines and ethics set forth in the New Testament for the Church and to channel its offerings to the support of the Kingdom of God. We therefore endeavor to enhance the life of members; encouraging them to “Walk in the light as He is in the light,” through a variety of training programs. By creating a loving atmosphere, we seek to win souls in the region and beyond.

DENOMINATION

Lighthouse Baptist Church Ministries shall be an Independent Baptist Church, governing its own affairs. It shall not at any time be subjected to the authority or control of any convention, or council of churches whether locally, regionally, or intentionally.

However, being Independent, the Lighthouse Baptist Church Ministries welcomes the fellowship and affiliation with churches of like precious faith (II Pet. 1:1) locally, regionally, or internationally.

CHURCH COVENANT

Having been led, as we believe, by the Spirit of God, to receive the Lord Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord, in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, we do now, in the presence of God, and this assembly, most solemnly and joyfully enter into covenant with one another as one body in Christ.

We engage, therefore, by the aid of the Holy Spirit, to walk together in Christian love; to strive for the advancement of this Church, in knowledge, holiness and comfort; to promote its prosperity and spirituality; to sustain its worship, ordinances, discipline and doctrines; to contribute cheerfully and regularly to the support of the ministry, the expenses of the Church, the relief of the poor, and the spread of the gospel to all nations.

We also engage to maintain family and secret devotions; to religiously educate our children; to seek the salvation of our kindred and acquaintances; to walk circumspectly in the world; to be just in our dealings, faithful in our engagements, and exemplary in our deportment; to avoid all tattling, backbiting and excessive anger; to abstain from the sale of, and the use of intoxicating drinks as a beverage; to be zealous in our efforts to advance the Kingdom of our Savior.

We further engage to watch over one another in brotherly love; to remember one another in prayer; to aid one another in sickness and distress; to cultivate Christian sympathy in feeling and Christian courtesy in speech; to be slow to take offence, but always ready for reconciliation and be mindful of the rules of our Savior to secure it without delay.

We moreover engage, that when we remove from this place, we will, as soon as possible, unite with some other church where we can carry out the spirit of this covenant and the principles of God's Word.

MISSIONS

A missional focus looks around and asks, “what needs to be done for the sake of Christ?” It means to deny ourselves and look at others through the eyes of Christ. We will strive to share the truth of God’s Word and His plan of salvation to the world around us. Acts 1:8 states that we are to be witnesses to our home towns, our surrounding areas, and the world.

Doctrinal Beliefs

Everything that Lighthouse Baptist Church does is founded upon the truth set forth in the Bible, which is living and active, and sharper than any two-edged sword (Hebrews 4:12). These beliefs serve as a bedrock of our ministry (Matthew 7:24).

BIBLE

We believe that the Bible is God's infallible Word. Therefore, we affirm our belief in the plenary and verbal inspiration of its original manuscript. We believe in the total inerrancy and the absolute authority of the Word of God, in all manner of faith and practice.

GOD

We believe in one Almighty God, who made heaven and earth. This Godhead is comprised of three distinct persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. These three are one, co-equal and co-eternal, perfect in holiness, infinite in wisdom, and measureless in power.

JESUS CHRIST

We believe in the deity of Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, His sinless life, His atoning death, His bodily resurrection, His ascension and His high priestly intercessory role at the right hand of the Father for all believers.

HOLY SPIRIT

We believe in the Holy Spirit who came to convince and to convict the world of sin, of righteousness and of judgment, and to regenerate, sanctify, seal and comfort all who believe in Jesus Christ.

MAN

We believe that men are justified by faith only, and stand righteous before God based on the finished work of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

SALVATION

We believe that salvation is by grace alone; the only condition is genuine repentance and faith.

THE CHURCH

We believe in the pretribulational translation of the Church to meet the Lord. We also believe in the premillennial return of Jesus Christ to the earth in a personal, visible and universal appearance.

SATAN/EVIL

Satan is the unholy prince of this age and all the powers of darkness. He is destined to the judgment of eternal punishment in the lake of fire.

HEAVEN/HELL

We believe in the everlasting conscious blessedness of the saved in heaven and earth, and the everlasting conscious punishment of the lost.

MARRIAGE

God’s Word is the final authority on sexuality, gender identity, and marriage. God designed marriage as a lifelong covenant relationship between one man and one woman. Every marriage is permanently binding under God’s authority.

BASIS OF FAITH

The Scriptures: We believe that the Holy Bible was written by men, supernaturally inspired, and that it is the only complete and final revelation of the will of God to man. II Tim. 3:16-17; II Pet. 1:19-21; Acts 1:16; Acts 28:25; Ps. 119:160; Ps. 119:105; Ps. 119:130; Luke 24:25-27; John 17:17; Luke 24:44-45; Ps. 119:89; Prov. 30:5-6; Rom. 3:4; I Pet. 1:23; Rev. 22:19; John 12:48; Isa. 8:20; Eph. 6:17; Rom. 5:14; Luke 16:31; Ps. 19:7-11; John 5:45-47; John 5:39.

The True God: We believe that there is one and only one living and true God; infinite, intelligent Spirit, the Maker and supreme ruler of heaven and earth. He is inexpressibly glorious in holiness and worthy of all possible honor, confidence and love; that in the unity of the Godhead there are three persons: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, equal in divine perfection, and executing distinct but harmonious offices in the great work of redemption. Ex. 20:2-3; Gen. 17:1; I Cor. 8:6; Eph. 4:6; John 4:24; Ps.147:5; Ps. 83:18; Ps.90:2; Jer. 10:10; Ex. 15:11 Rev. 4:11; I Tim. 1:17; Rom. 11:33; Mark 12:30; Matt. 28:19; John 15:26; I Cor. 12:4-6; I John 5:7; John 17:5; Acts 5:3-4; I Cor. 2:10-11; Phil. 2:5-6; Eph. 2:18; II Cor. 13:14.

The Holy Spirit: We believe that the Holy Spirit is a divine person, equal with God the Father and God the Son, and of the same nature; that He bears witness to the truth; that He is the agent of the new birth; that He seals, endues, guides, teaches, sanctifies, witnesses to and helps the believer. John 14:16; Matt. 18:19; Heb. 9:14; John 14:26; Luke 1:35; Gen. 1:1-3; II Thes. 2:7; John 16:8-11; John 15:26-27; Acts 5:30-32; John 3:5-6; Eph. 1:13-14; Matt. 3:11; Mark 1:8; Luke 3:16; John 1:33; Acts 11:16; Luke 24:49; John 16:13; John 14:26; Rom. 8:14; Rom. 8:16; II Thes. 2:13; I Pet. 1:2; Rom. 8:26-27.

The Creation: We believe in the Genesis account of creation that it is to be accepted literally, and not allegorically or figuratively. We believe that man was created directly in God's image and after His own likeness. That man's creation was not a matter of evolution or evolutionary change of species, or development through interminable periods of time from lower to higher forms; “ that all animal and vegetable life was made directly, and that God's established law was that they should bring forth only after their kind.” Gen. 1:1; Ex. 20:11; Acts 4:24; Col. 1:16-17; Heb. 11:13; John 1:3; Rev. 10:6; Rom. 1:20; Acts 17:23-26; Jer. 10:12; Neh. 9:6; Gen. 1:26-27; Gen. 2:21-23; Gen. 1:11; Gen. 1:24.

The Fall of Man: We believe that man was created in innocence under the law of his Maker, but by voluntary transgression fell from his sinless and happy state; in consequence of which all mankind are now sinners, not by constraint, but of choice, and is therefore under just condemnation without defense or excuse. Gen. 3:1-6; Rom. 5:12; Rom. 5:19; Rom. 3:10-19; Eph. 2:1,3; Ezek. 18:19-20; Rom. 1:32; Rom. 1:28; Gal. 3:22.

The Virgin Birth: We believe that Jesus Christ was begotten of the Holy Ghost in a miraculous manner, born of Mary, a virgin, as no other man was ever born or can be born of woman; and that He is both the Son of God and God the Son. Gen. 3:15; Isa. 7:14; Matt. 1:18-25; Luke 1:35; Mark 1:1; John 1:14; Ps. 2:7; Gal. 4:4; I John 5:20; I Cor. 15:47.

The Atonement for Sin: We believe that the salvation of sinners is wholly of grace, through the mediatorial offices of the Son of God. Who by appointment of the Father, He freely took upon Him our nature yet without sin; honored the divine law by His personal obedience, and by His death made a full and vicarious atonement for our sins. That His atonement consisted not in setting us an example by His death as a martyr, but was the voluntary substitution of Himself in the sinner's place. Eph. 2:8; Acts 15:11; Rom. 3:24; John 3:16; Matt. 18:11; Phil. 2:7; Heb. 2:14; Isa. 53:4-7; Rom. 3:25; I John 4:10; I Cor. 15:3; II Cor. 5:21; John 10:18; Phil. 2:8; Gal. 1:4; I Pet. 2;24; I Pet. 3:18; Isa. 53:11; Heb. 12:2; I Cor. 15:20; Isa. 53:12; Heb. 9:12-15; Heb. 7:25; I John 2:2.

Justification: We believe that the great Gospel blessing, which Christ secures to such as believe in Him is justification. That justification includes the pardon of sin and the gift of eternal life on principles of righteousness; that it is bestowed not in consideration of any works of righteousness, which we have done, but solely through faith in the Redeemer's blood, His righteousness is imputed unto us.

Repentance and Faith: We believe that Repentance and Faith are solemn obligations, and also inseparable graces, wrought in our soul by the quickening Spirit of God; thereby, being deeply convicted of our guilt, danger and helplessness, we turn to God with unfeigned contrition, confession and supplication for mercy, at the same time receiving the Lord Jesus Christ, and openly confessing Him as our only and all-sufficient Savior. Acts 20:21; Mark 1:15; Acts 2:37-38; Luke 18:13; Rom 10:13; Ps. 51:1-4; Ps. 51:7; Isa. 55:6-7; Luke 12:8; Rom. 10:9-11.

The Second Coming of Christ: We believe in the individual’s competency to commune with God and that the only mediator is Jesus Christ. We believe in the visible, personal and premillennial return of Jesus Christ. Heb. 10:19-22; Rom. 8:26; I Tim. 2:5-6; Heb. 4:16; I Sam.12:23; II Tim. 4:1.

Man's Eternal Destiny: We believe in the everlasting conscious blessedness of the saved and the everlasting conscious punishment of the lost. Matt. 25:41,46; II Thes. 1:7-9; Rev. 20:10; II Cor. 5:6; Phil. 1:23; Rev. 21:5-22; John 11:25-26.

The Preservation of the Saints: We believe that such only are real believers who ask Christ to come into their hearts; that their transformation by Christ and conformation to Christ is the good mark which distinguishes them from superficial professors; that a special providence watches over their welfare; and that they are kept by the power of God through faith unto eternal salvation. John 8:31-32; Col. 1:21-23; 1 John 2:19; Matt. 13:19-21; Rom. 8:28; Matt. 6:20; Ps. 121:3; Heb. 1:14; I Pet. 1:5; Phil. 1:6; John 10:28-29; John 16:8; Rom. 8:35-39.

Civil Government: We believe that civil government is of divine appointment, for the interests and good order of human society; that magistrates are to be prayed for and conscientiously honored and obeyed, except only in things opposed to the will of our Lord Jesus Christ, who is the only Lord of the conscience, and the coming prince of the kings of the earth. Rom. 13:7; II Sam. 23:3; Ex.18:21-22; Acts 23:5; Matt. 22:21; Tit. 3:1; I Pet. 2:13; I Pet. 2:14, 17; Acts 4:19- 20; Dan. 3:17-18; Matt. 10:28; Matt. 23:10; Phi. 2:10-11.
